Whataspp is one trending application that is most frequently used by millions of users. Earlier it was available for mobile phones only but now it works on desktop as well. Using whatsapp on desktop is known as Whatsapp web. To use it you can access it from desktop as well with the help of a mobile phone or without a mobile phone. Let us see how we can do that.
Downloading WhatsApp Desktop
- In your computer’s browser, go to the Whatsapp download page
- Then download the .exe or .dmg file.
- Once the download is complete, open the .exe or .dmg file
- Follow the prompts to complete the installation.
Using Android
- Open web.whatsapp.com on your computer using the web browser
- Open the WhatsApp app on your phone by clicking on it
- Open the Chats screen
- Select Menu
- Then click WhatsApp Web
- There will be a QR code on the computer screen.
- Scan this using your phone
- WhatsApp will then open in your computer browser
- You’ll be able to use it as to send messages as you would on your phone
- When you’ve finished your session, remember to log out.
- Click on the three-dot menu above the chats list on the left hand side of the screen
- Click on Log out at the bottom of the list
Using iPhone
- Open web.whatsapp.com on your computer using the web browser
- Open the WhatsApp app on your phone by clicking on it
- If you are in a chat, navigate back to the main Chats screen
- Select Settings from the bottom menu
- Then select WhatsApp Web
- There will be a QR code on the computer screen.
- Scan this using your phone
- WhatsApp will then open in your computer browser
- You’ll be able to use it as to send messages as you would on your phone
- When you’ve finished your session, remember to log out.
- Click on the three-dot menu above the chats list on the left hand side of the screen
- Click on Log out at the bottom of the list
How to install and open WhatsApp without mobile?
- Open a browser on your laptop
- Go to Bluestacks website
- Now, click on the ‘Download BlueStacks’ button
- Then, click on the downloaded file
- Install the emulator on your device by following the instructions.
- Now, click on the BlueStacks icon
- Open the emulator.
- Install WhatsApp on the emulator either from the list of popular apps or by searching for it.
- Click on the WhatsApp icon on your computer.
- Enter your phone number and enter the verification code to authenticate WhatsApp.
- You will be able to use WhatsApp on your laptop without a smartphone.
